John's scrapbook included newspaper clippings from the funerals
of earlier generations.
John had a brother Edward.
In 1905, I believe that my grandfather, John J. Bennis, was a freshman at Niagara University.  It is my understanding that he attended Niagara for only one year before returning to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania.  From what I understand he never went back for a senior year.  I don't know why.  I don't believe it was related to the health problems that killed him when he was 29 years old.  Nor did he dropout to marry because he did not marry my grandmother until 1912.  Anyone know?
